It’s confirmed—upstart Howard Dean is the top Democratic fundraiser, apparently stunning the other Democratic candidates and plenty of pundits by raising more than $7 million, including more than $800,000 on 30 June. Dean is the protest candidate, of course, whose anti-war stance has galvanized many of those disaffected from the Bush administration. But, more importantly, anyone who needed confirmation of the difference the Internet can make in a campaign now has it.
