A Project Manager with Special Powers

Jan 23, 2013By mStoner Staff

We’ve hired a new project manager. Let’s start with a few clues…

Fact: He is based in St. Louis.
(And we’ve got an office there.)

Fact: He is a marketing and communications professional.
(Yeah, we can always use another one of those on our team.)

Fact: He loves higher education, social media and the web.
(Wait, so do we!)

Just call it meant to be: I am incredibly excited to announce that Patrick Powers will join mStoner as a project manager on Monday, January 28.

Here’s a sneak peek into Patrick’s special powers. He’s an accomplished communicator with experience in brand management, digital communications, social media, relationship development, and integrated marketing strategy. And Patrick has strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills. In other words, he’s got all the makings for exceptional management of client projects. Sounds like a match to me.

For the benefit of the few people out there who don’t know (or follow) Patrick (@patrickjpowers), he was most recently the director of digital marketing and communications at Webster University in St. Louis. During his seven and a half years at Webster, Patrick developed and deployed strategies to attract students and enhance the university’s reputation through the web and new media. Patrick’s work is award-winning and has been regularly recognized by CASE. In April, Patrick will serve as the chair of the CASE Social Media and Community Conference. Finally, the fact that Patrick has long demonstrated thought leadership wasn’t lost on us. He is a regular speaker and blogger in higher ed communications.

All of which makes him uniquely qualified for the project management role he’ll assume when he joins us on Monday.

You can read more about Patrick’s background, experience and education on his personal website. We are already looking forward to his first post on the mStoner blog.
