Congratulations to Boston College Graduate School of Social Work

Feb 20, 2009By Michael Stoner

Congratulations to Boston College Graduate School of Social Work! Their new site launched today.

The visuals of the site are meant to be sophisticated and strong, which reflects the school’s mission and principles. The feature content of the site is centered on the branding points that make BC GSSW distinctive:

    • issues + evidence as a way of talking about they approach academics;

    • leadership + partnership as a way of talking about connections and influence;

  • commitment + exploration as a way of talking about personal stories and dedication.

The project was a partnership between mStoner team members; Susan Callaghan, BC GSSW’s director of communications; and Boston College’s IT department, who implemented our designs on Serena Collage, BC’s content management tool.

An added bonus is that the site is easy to parse on mobile devices. The large Flash element on the home page doesn’t render on some phones, but the site collapses in way that is easy to navigate and fully accessible, as you can see with this screenshot from an iPhone.

  • Michael Stoner Co-Founder and Co-Owner Was I born a skeptic or did I become one as I watched the hypestorm gather during the dotcom years, recede, and congeal once more as we come to terms with our online, social, mobile world? Whatever. I'm not much interested in cutting edge but what actually works for real people in the real world. Does that make me a bad person?
