Company
mStoner’s company profile? We’re a bunch of geeks. Design geeks. Word geeks. Technology geeks. Next-big-thing geeks. (And screen-printing, locavore-dining, beer-snobbing, singer-songwriting, NBA draft–obsessing, George R. R. Martin/David Foster Wallace–reading, container-gardening geeks.) What can we say? We like what we do. A lot. And we like who we do it for even more. We’re inspired by great creative ideas and the missions of the institutions with which we work.
What do we do?
When mStoner opened its doors more than 10 years ago, we focused on developing web communications strategies and designing and building websites for education institutions. But a lot has changed since 2001. Our staff has grown, and with it our expertise. Our clients have come to trust and depend on our sense of their campus culture and strategic goals, and they have pushed us to help them develop more holistic solutions to their communications challenges. And, of course, new media have exploded. Now we create “traditional” communications like viewbooks, print ads, and billboards, as well as mobile sites and social media plans.
How do we do it?
mStoner takes a strategy-first approach to anything we do. The coolest website, the prettiest viewbook, and the most innovative social media plan are meaningless if they’re not informed by a keen understanding of your institution’s brand; the messages you’re trying to convey to your constituents; and the reasons why your donors, alumni, and prospective students choose to engage with you. We start with the big picture, then make sure your website, print publications, and social media efforts work together to enhance that big picture.
Who do we work for?
We’ve chosen to focus our efforts on serving education institutions—colleges, universities, professional schools, and independent schools—for two reasons. First, our depth of experience gives us insight into education that allows us to make a real contribution to our clients’ communications efforts. Second, all of us at mStoner are deeply indebted to the institutions that taught us, and we’re profoundly inspired by the transformational opportunities colleges, universities, and independent schools offer their students today. We are proud to share in their mission.
We’d love to learn more about your institution, and we’d like you to learn more about us. Contact Mallory Wood to learn more about mStoner.
