Patrick DiMichele, Senior Strategist

Since joining mStoner I’ve held a number of positions within the firm, including senior designer, design director, and (presently) senior strategist. The vaguely-defined nature of my current role gives me an excuse to look over everyone’s shoulder and voice an unsolicited opinion—usually with the justification that “it’s just part of my job.”

On a typical engagement I work as part of a small team to define the big picture strategy governing a project. From there, I collaborate with a group of writers, designers, and technology gurus to ensure that the abstract concept we conceive of at the beginning of the project matches up with the product we deliver.

Whenever possible I gravitate toward solutions that simplify. I think there’s something inarguably compelling in the combination of intuitive information architecture, crisp content and clean design. When done well, communication is easy.

I hold a BS in English and political science from Indiana University. When not in the office, I can be found hanging out with my cartoonishly high-strung dog Mister Chompers.
 
In a previous life, I:

• Managed an overhaul of the information architecture at CDW.com.
• Directed the creative work driving a multi-million dollar online advertising campaign.
• Consulted for United, Boise Cascade, Lilly, and Janus Capital Group.
• Designed websites for an array of Chicago-based businesses and nonprofits.
• Learned valuable lessons (sometimes the hard way) at two ill-fated startups.
