Smart and Sustainable

"mStoner helped us define our goals for this project. One of the reasons we chose mStoner was their ability to elicit administrative and faculty wants and needs. We had three candidates for this redesign, and mStoner was the overwhelming favorite of the faculty and staff."

Challenge: In approaching its website redeployment project, Yale Law School knew that the site should provide needed information about the school’s core functions, such as admissions and curriculum. But beyond the essentials, the team wanted a site that would showcase the school’s world-class faculty, rich student life experience, and other aspects of the dynamic Yale Law community. mStoner came on board to ensure the project’s success.

Solution: After a detailed discovery period, mStoner created a strategy that included a new information architecture for the site, a design that would more accurately portray the school, content strategy that would provide visitors with the information they need, and training to ensure that the site could be maintained by the on-campus team.

Results: The resulting Yale Law School site doesn’t just describe the Yale Law community, it embodies the spirit of that community. Alumni, potential donors, and prospective and accepted students have access to clean navigation and focused content, all wrapped in a refined, elegant design. In addition, the new site lays the groundwork for transactionality and eCommunity functions to be integrated in the future. The site launched on schedule in May 2006, and response was so enthusiastic that we are now designing and building a second site for the Law School—this one for the library.
