ACL Resources

Oct 07, 2006By Michael Stoner

The first is an excellent paper on communications audits by Julia Coffman. This a resource that is a good overview for a leader who needs to understand how to do strategic communications, and it’s also a good resource for someone who actually has to do one.

The second includes slides from a presentation on nonprofit web strategy by folks from Guidestar and the Network for Good in 2004. There’s some interesting research here that looks at what visitors want from nonprofit websites and the actions they take based on what they find there.

I also mentioned Basecamp, the software we use for managing projects and sharing information, which you can find here.

I heard a presentation by Donna Heiland, vice president of The Teagle Foundation, who spoke about the foundation’s communications activities. She pointed to the blog written by Bob Connor, Teagle’s president, about topics in liberal education. I’ll be a regular follower of Connor’s Liblog.

  • Michael Stoner Co-Founder and Co-Owner Was I born a skeptic or did I become one as I watched the hypestorm gather during the dotcom years, recede, and congeal once more as we come to terms with our online, social, mobile world? Whatever. I'm not much interested in cutting edge but what actually works for real people in the real world. Does that make me a bad person?
