Meet Brianne!

Oct 19, 2020By Travis Koury

Please join us in welcoming Brianne Hinchliffe, mStoner’s new web developer.

As a web developer at mStoner, Brianne is responsible for collaborating with clients and the mStoner team to build and implement innovative websites.

For Brianne, coding is like a puzzle begging to be solved. When she first dissected pieces of the HTML and CSS that made up her Myspace layout as a teen, she was perplexed, but also inspired. She wanted to know how these letters, numbers, and symbols worked together to create the colors, images, and design on her page. Throughout the years she has mastered many aspects of the web industry either on her own, with her team, or through her education. However, Brianne has found that there is no better way to learn about the vast world of the web than through real-life experience.

Brianne is an avid comic book reader and lover of dystopian novels, sci-fi/horror movies, tv shows, and games. Known by some as her derby name, KillerBriSting, her favorite places she’s traveled to include Scotland and Norway.

Brianne shared her answers to mStoner’s version of the Proust questionnaire.

Favorite book: I’m a huge fan of dystopian novels — every time I read a good dystopian novel I’m peering into an alternate universe and am reminded of how easy it would be to suffer the same fate. The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin is definitely an all-time favorite.

Favorite TV show: There are so many amazing TV shows out there! I’m definitely a member of all the major fandoms: Sherlock, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story. However, I am a devout Whovian and have watched Doctor Who (both old and new Who) more times than I care to disclose.

Favorite place you’ve visited: Norway is my favorite country in the world! So much so that my husband and I got married there in 2018.

Funniest tweet/article/social post you ever read: The best example of staying calm in the workplace.

Greatest achievement to date: There are numerous tangible things I’ve accomplished that I am proud of throughout my life, but the resounding greatest achievement has to be staying true to myself. In any situation, at any time in my life, whether personal or professional, I have never strayed from who I am and I am very proud of that.

Your superhero: Deadpool. But seriously, it has to be my mom. She sacrificed so much in her life to allow me a better life and I can only hope to be half the woman and momma that she is.

Your nemesis: Oddly enough, eyeballs. They really, really freak and gross me out. To the point where I’ve never been to the eye doctor and have no intention of going any time soon.

Your motto: I have the courage to be me.

Your greatest life lesson: Learn to let things go. You can overthink yourself into a black hole, but at the end of the day there are some things you simply cannot control and learning to set those boundaries for yourself is imperative for you to be able to concentrate on the things that truly matter to you.

Welcome, Brianne!
