Welcome Back, Michael!

Mar 04, 2020By Travis Koury

Say hello to a familiar face! Michael Bolton returns to mStoner as a web support analyst.

michael bolton headshotAs web support analyst, he performs accessibility compliance, quality assurance, and cross-browser HTML testing to make sure all loose ends are neatly tied up before a new site goes live. He draws upon his extensive technical experience to develop user training sessions and draft best practices, processes, and standards for clients. Once a site goes live, Michael is on the front lines helping clients with ongoing support.

Michael holds a bachelor of science in law in entertainment business from Missouri State University. His interest in information technology grew by learning to maintain complex camera and computer systems while working as an aerial photographer.

Michael is also an accomplished musician, and he just released his fourth album under the name M.F. Bolton. (Apparently, there’s another Michael Bolton out there mucking up search engine results.)

Michael shared his answers to mStoner’s version of the Proust questionnaire.

Favorite book: “The Tao of Pooh” by Benjamin Hoff. On top of being well-written and highly witty, this book taught me the importance of being able to go with the flow and not holding onto stress.

Favorite TV show: “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” I have very fond memories of watching this with my mom when it was originally airing. Since then, I have rewatched it several times and always come away noticing something new. I love how it demonstrates how a disparate group of people can come together to form an amazing team.

Favorite place you’ve visited: Cottonwood Creek Dinosaur Trail near Casper, Wyoming. I had the opportunity to explore this area in solitude a few years ago. I was very taken with the extraordinary views and unique landscape.

Funniest tweet/article/social post you’ve ever read: @TheWeirdWorld — If the Earth were flat, cats would have pushed everything off it by now.

Greatest achievement to date: Raising my sons to a point where they are truly capable of taking care of themselves. They are still teenagers and not out of the house yet, but if it came down to it, they could survive on their own. I am looking forward to watching them grow into productive members of society over the next few years.

Your superhero: My older brother, Ed. After my parents separated, he really stepped up as a big support net for me. To this day, he is my go-to person when I need to talk something out. He is also ridiculously smart and funny.

Your nemesis: People who toss cigarette butts out of their car window — especially when they are driving a hybrid or electric vehicle.

Your motto: “There is a place for everything, and everything has a place.” I find this to be true of both physical things and people.

Your greatest life lesson: Life is too short and unpredictable to be rude and abrasive to the people you interact with.

Welcome back, Michael!
