Project Support Specialist

As a project support specialist at mStoner, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the smooth internal operations of our distributed team and the support of projects for our college and university clients.

The ideal candidate is an organized go-getter who wants exposure to all aspects of a small business, values lifelong learning, thinks critically about their work, and is excited by helping team members succeed.

What You'll Do

Financial Support:

  • Organize and track project costs and client payment statuses.
  • Assist with quarterly results process and project percent complete analysis.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide ad-hoc assistance with various administrative tasks in support of Manager of Finance and Administration.
  • Monitor the accounting inbox for invoices and receipts; Organize internal filing system and maintain receipt/record retention.
  • Track various aspects of the business: Apple hardware assets, annual reports, and client and vendor contracts and end dates.

Project Support:

  • Coordinate the weekly time approval process in our project management system.
  • Archive completed tasks, and manage invoice payment statuses
  • Facilitate project purchase orders and statements of work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to two years of business administration, project support, or accounting experience
  • Proficient with Excel and Adobe
  • Solid understanding of business operations
  • Familiar with basic accounting practices or AP/AR background

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in an agency or consulting firm that services clients
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online
  • A background in or passion for Higher Education or Marketing
  • Located in the Chicago or St. Louis area - while we are a remote company, we have clusters

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers from a variety of professional disciplines and at different levels of authority
  • Must be organized and able to manage and track time effectively
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must be versatile and able to contribute and add value to the team on a variety of tasks
  • Must be able to collaborate and work effectively in a remote / distributed environment
  • Must be able to work in the Central Time Zone
  • Must be willing to travel on occasion. This includes our annual all-team meeting as well as meet ups with team members in Chicago or St. Louis. Note: all travel has been indefinitely suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Web Developer

As a web developer at mStoner, you’ll be part of the team responsible for planning and executing highly effective and usable websites and digital experiences for our college and university clients.

The ideal candidate is a passionate developer with two to five years of experience who wants exposure to all aspects of web development, seeks professional growth, enjoys helping clients, and is excited by seeing the impact of their work.

What You'll Do

  • Implement the back-end of university websites in Drupal and WordPress
  • Convert front-end code to custom Drupal and WordPress themes
  • Complete maintenance, support and enhancement tasks for existing client websites
  • Build content integrations with other web applications and third-party systems
  • Contribute to functional / technical planning
  • Participate in quality assurance activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years of experience of web development experience, preferably with PHP, Drupal and/or WordPress
  • Experience implementing large and complex websites within a content management system environment
  • Prior experience in an agency or consulting firm that services clients
  • Experience with responsive web design, front-end build processes, and HTML5 / CSS3 / SASS / JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of best practices and standards for web development, performance, security, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and organic search engine optimization
  • Proficient with code versioning tools such as Github or Bitbucket
  • Familiar with quality assurance tools and code validation tools
